Hospital at home in Algiers: who qualifies and how it works

Key points

  • Main condition: a stable state compatible with care at home.
  • A home assessment comes before any commitment.
  • The written care plan sets out the duration, visit frequency and equipment.

More and more Algerian families are choosing hospital at home. Here are the answers to the questions we hear most often.

Eligibility

  • A stable state of health, compatible with care outside hospital.
  • An accessible home with some room for equipment.
  • A relative or care aide present, depending on how dependent the patient is.
  • Agreement from the patient and family.

The process

A doctor visits for the assessment: clinical exam, review of the hospital file and a look at the home. They then propose a written care plan stating the number of visits, the equipment and the staff required.

After the assessment

The doctor gives you the written care plan and answers your questions: length of care, how often doctors and nurses visit, the equipment needed and whether a care aide is required. You then decide, with no commitment.

Ask for your assessment on WhatsApp or through the form — we'll call you back quickly.

Frequently asked questions

Does the assessment commit me to anything?

No. It checks that care at home is possible and prepares the care plan — you decide afterwards.
